Week 15

We were sad when the gingerbread man left, but we got some postcards from him this week. These are just some of the cards we received.

We tracked these postcards on a US map.

We enjoyed reading several more gingerbread stories this week.

Our close read was also a gingerbread story. We really loved this one!

Here are the vocabulary words from the story that we learned.

We worked with a partner to brainstorm a step plan. We pretended we were Captain Cookie from the story and we came up with what we would do to save our crew if we encountered a stranger. We drew the plan and we presented with our partners.

We reviewed the letters Uu and Zz this week.

Our sight words were "mom", "dad" and "with". 

In science, we continued to talk about objects in the sky during the day and night. We drew those objects in our science journal.

In math, we continued to work on combinations. We used two-sided counters in a game of shake and spill. We practiced our addition with dominoes with our partners.

We also learned about the circle.

We made Mr. Circle.
