Week 21

We started off our week learning about groundhogs. We read these books.

We learned that the groundhog saw his shadow and that means 6 more weeks of winter. We applied our learning to a fun writing activity.

Our close read of the week was A Bad Case of Stripes

Here are the vocabulary words from the story.

Our sight words this week were "this" and "find".

Here are some other stories we enjoyed this week.

In math, we worked on graphing, addition and teen numbers. Here is one of the graphing activities that we did this week. We also played new math center games this week.

In science, we learned characteristics of living things. We brainstormed a list and crossed out the ones that were incorrect as we learned more about them.

We read these books to help us learn and practiced categorizing living and nonliving things.

We made another chart to help us remember what questions to ask to determine if something is alive. Then we applied our learning to a new activity.

Our 100th day of school was so much fun. I heard so many say "this is the best day ever".  Here are some of the books we read.

Our 100 day centers were so much fun. Take a look at our fun day! Ask your child to tell you about them.

Our teachers had fun dressing up like they were 100 years old.

And here we are at 100 years old using the Aging Booth app.
